James Reesor 2010 Campaign Issues #5 Tennessee voters need info from the media. It’s impossible to "Vote Smart" if the media keeps people too stupid to make wise choices. November 2nd General Election 2010 By White Horse Independent James Reesor Low voter turnout will be attributable to frustration over temper tantrums shown by several gubernatorial candidates in coming weeks. Tennessee citizens will not be happy with insensitivity demonstrated by power-hungry liberals when the international economy worsens in October. Big business contributors to mild-mannered conservative pacifists will frustrate poor folks when retail prices continue to rise and more jobs are lost. The lack of believable facts to substantiate verbal attacks against opponents and seething anger resulting from media bias will contribute to apathy seldom seen before. Regardless of uncontrollable events, law-abiding registered voters will be making choices based on insufficient information. Also, we can expect to witness illegal voters, defective voting equipment, incompetent voting precinct officials, and misplaced data to distort election processes. Even though the number of dead voters will not be totally revealed, we know the validity of winners and losers will be questioned by the State Election Commission and the media – when hell freezes over. Everything will be happening as planned! Today is October 1st, 2010. Predicting the weather is not easy for anyone but a prophet this far in advance, but I can say a perfect day in Tennessee will be unlikely when it comes time to cast our ballots. Elderly voters will be reluctant to participate when they realize their effort will require getting wet in the west and threatened by wind in the east. Younger voters will not be interested in anything to do with politics when they hear news about plans for cutting sports from schools. When tax revenues run lower than normal, contractors and union members will start blaming the government. Frustrated activists with cozy tea party connections will finally realize that Democrats and Republicans can’t be trusted to do anything but “business as usual” – in spite of promises for meaningful change. While a few wealthy elitists have been fighting against power-hungry liberals, average hard-working Americans are filing for bankruptcy. Politicians who pretended to be different as Independents have not stood strong on their political or spiritual principles. They have portrayed themselves as dreamers and schemers instead of diplomats. A few have forsaken patriotic tea party supporters by endorsing the very two-party politicians most of us folks want to keep out of office. Trust in the ideals we gubernatorial hopefuls are advocating must be earned by actions that reflect our words. An unstable stock market coupled with the unemployment crisis should make every candidate for public office think twice about their position on issues. The next Governor of Tennessee might very well be a stick-in-the-mud traditionalist who has no ability to deal effectively with problems – unless voters wise up and vote smart for an innovator. This is no time for more of the same “status quo” political shenanigans. Hard decisions will need to be made that will probably cause riots to break out on Capitol Hill in Nashville. Appeasement, compromise, favoritism or all of the other tricks used to keep legislators satisfied will not be enough when negative events overwhelm the system. We need versatile leaders that will honestly represent “we the people” instead of catering to campaign contributors or special interest groups that currently control government officials. I would die from shock if this message – or any of my web site messages – were actually publicized by the local media. They are a big part of the problem in our state! I’ve often said in recent years that “America and Tennessee are too broke to fix without divine intervention.” If my statement is accurate, voters should vote for me or someone else who has faith in the power of God. I’ve described myself as “living dirt” on my good days, and as “dung upon the ground” on my bad days. In other words, without God in my life to guide me when making decisions, my usefulness as a governor would be zero. I believe He cares about me, you, and every person in our state, but His help will not be forthcoming if we fail to repent of our past mistakes. It is this “faith” of mine that gives me hope for the future if we choose to unite for the right reasons. As we move closer to the end of this political season, there are intelligent people working out strategies on the campaign trail to make their candidate popular. Famous politicians, celebrities in the music business, and even lessor known candidates have been making endorsements for reasons that are blatantly self-serving. “Money” is far more important to most people than “ideas” in our “corrupt” political system. Every trick in the book is used to gain advantage over competitors – and gullible voters seem to be totally oblivious to media manipulation. Can we expect all of our problems to disappear after November if voters elect the same “political machine” candidates? How many Tennesseans are registered to vote? What would happen if only 900,000 people voted instead of the approximate 1,800,000 that did their patriotic duty in 2006? What if people were angry enough to march through rain, wind, and fire to vote – with over 2 million showing up at the polls unexpectedly? Can pollsters provide accurate data to estimate voter percentages for Republicans, Democrats or any of us Independents? How many disgruntled voters have deserted former alliances to become tea party activists? Will big-money folks remain loyal to their hand-picked candidates after reputations are slandered? Will union folks and government workers be knocking on doors, putting up yard signs, signing up more first-time voters, making phone calls, and providing rides on election day – while the media continues to propagandize us? Well, if those smart folks working for wealthy elitists and the media expect Bill Haslam to get about 1,270,000 votes and Gore’s friend Mike McWherter to only bring in about 530,000 votes, does that mean we Independents will only get about 500 votes? If we believed what we are being told, it might be wise for us to just endorse each other or go vote for smiling Bill or grinning Mike? I suppose those elitist bigots would prefer having our names “mistakenly” omitted from the ballot to avoid embarrassment should we do better than expected? Guess what? I’m going to go way out on the limb and predict the outcome of this fascinating (boring) campaign that I’ve been experiencing since 18 May 2008. As a self-proclaimed prophet who is a “last resort candidate,” I’ve decided the name “James – Crazy Man James Reesor” is the one voters need to pick if we really want things to get better. All the reasons for doing so are found on my web site. The truth shall set you free! Knoxville News Sentinel’s Tom Humphrey had this to say about we Independents: “The 14 have devoted varying amounts of time and energy to their campaigns. Most have websites – that of James Reesor being the most colorful and elaborate – and some have appeared at candidate forums and otherwise campaigned actively.” Tom mentioned each one of us in his article with this specific info in regard to me: “– Reesor of Nashville, an artist, musician and author, presents multiple views on many things on his website. Among his proposals: Reduce from three to one the number of stars on Tennessee’s state flag to symbolize new unity and cut state spending by 30 percent to 50 percent over seven years. Reesor reports having spent $4,582 of his own money with a $74.10 balance remaining at last account.” Angry patriots in the tea party are starting to realize that most Independents are really former Democrats and Republicans who want to use some of us to confuse the rest of us. Maybe that’s why a few are in hiding, making insincere promises, and have been endorsing Republicans, Democrats or each other? As for me, the humble White Horse Independent, I say, “Don’t vote unless you know what the hell you are doing!” Low voter turnout might result in my miraculous victory if you people out there in the boondocks are courageous enough to see through the smoke in coming days. You are being kept in the dark by the media because they’re getting big advertising bucks from rich candidates. The only chance for enlightenment will have to come from light sent by God Himself, because trying to buy our way into public office is not possible or desirable. Will you be paying attention when truth shakes your corner of the world or will solar flares and global warming be blamed? According to my web site election clock at this point in history, we have 1 Month, 1 Day, 5 Hours, 8 Minutes and 52 Seconds before November the 2nd. The seconds and minutes are slowly ticking away as we await divine intervention. Strange events will transpire for reasons that will not be easily understood. Coming events and circumstances will make a huge impact on how voters make decisions during the last week of October. Between now and then, try to keep informed by finding unbiased news. If you have trouble hearing the voice of God in your corner of Tennessee, try a different location. As a few Christians have learned over the years, most folks wouldn’t recognize a supernatural occurrence if it kicked them in the butt while standing alone in an empty room. Here’s a hint: Vote for an Independent you can trust to be your friend when times get tough. Who do you want to call for help if you are ever broke, hungry, sad and feeling hopeless without a job? Are there any Democrats or Republicans in government that you can trust enough to answer your phone calls if you need to be rescued from poverty? Do you have rich relatives or friendly neighbors that care enough to come to your aid when all hell breaks loose? How many strangers on the street will be begging for assistance in coming months if the next governor fails to make the right decisions?
